Use your funeral well: With Christ at the centre

Last month we had the news that one of our Southampton team had stepped into eternity. Promoted to Glory. Face to face with the Lord Jesus. Yet a great loss to those left behind him.
Richard Dobson. Have you heard of him? Probably not. But this man was special. He was an ambassador to the Creator of this Universe. An ambassador to Jesus Christ.
When I last saw Richard, I couldn't get over how dedicated he was to coming to Southampton. He could hardly walk far and hardly walk at a pace like most folks do. And yet he stood. He poured his heart out in preaching and made time for everyone where he could. It was clear in his last times with us that the pain in his body was increasing. Holding on to the board where he preached from. Needing to sit down on the stool he brought with him. But come freezing temperatures or challenging heat. He would make the long journey from Bournemouth to Southampton to seek to magnify the Lord Jesus and plead with people to repent. Today was his memorial service. You can watch this on the video below. However, unless you were there, you would not have seen the way in which he went to great lengths to make the Gospel known to all who attend. He arranged for Gospel tracts on every seat.

At this point, I have to ask you, dear reader, do you have your funeral service planned out to the glory of our Saviour? Why not consider Gospel tracts on the seats?
Also, if you had not been there, you would have missed the fact he had two tables FULL of Gospel material.
You can see images of this below,
From start to finish, all that was said at this funeral sought to honour the Lord Jesus Christ.
Can I ask you to plan your funeral service so it is a Christ at the centre funeral?
My not take the time to watch Richard's funeral, take notes and apply some of the content to your own? "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" Matthew 25:21
Here is a video of the thanksgiving service to watch:
