What exactly are our legal freedoms (as a Christian) and where can we get help when we need it?
One of the origanisations that has helped us many times is the Christian Institute.
Who Are The Christian Institute in relation to your legal freedoms?
The Christian Institute is a nondenominational Christian charity that exists for the furtherance and promotion of the Christian faith in the United Kingdom and beyond, and for the

advancement of education. It is supported by more than 60,000 individuals across the UK, including over 5,000 churches.
The Institute is committed to upholding the truths of the Bible, which it affirms as inerrant and the supreme authority for all of life. Central to its work is the belief in the sanctity of human life from conception.
The Christian Institute seeks to promote God’s design for the world as revealed in Scripture, believing that Biblical teaching benefits society as a whole and enables communities to prosper and flourish. While there is much to value in national life - such as law and order, democratic participation, access to healthcare, and educational opportunity - there are also vital issues that require careful discussion, challenge, and engagement.
Whether the public debate concerns the sanctity of life, marriage and family, religious liberty, or freedom of speech, the Institute encourages Christians to honour God by playing an active and responsible role in society as His representatives.
Guided by the biblical command to love one’s neighbour, the Christian Institute emphasises the importance of seeking the welfare of communities and acting as salt and light for the common good. This includes making respectful use of opportunities to urge lawmakers to fulfil their God-given responsibility to restrain evil and promote what is good.
Historically, many significant reforms - such as the abolition of the slave trade, protections for children and workers, and more recent efforts to combat human trafficking - were championed by legislators deeply influenced by biblical principles. The Christian Institute continues this legacy today through its work, research, and public engagement, helping Christians understand the issues of the day and respond with clarity, conviction, and compassion.
